Employee of the Month – February 2020

Jean Young who works as a ward hostess for Choice has been awarded this month’s Employee of the Month Award. Feedback received in relation to her award is as follows:
‘Jean works as a ward hostess on zone D2, on the 14th February 2020 Jean was collecting the used breakfast dishes from the patient’s bedside tables on ward D48, Jean was approached by an elderly gentleman, he asked Jean if she would pass a message onto his wife who was also an inpatient in the same ward, he said he had not missed Valentine’s Day in the 60 years they had been together, Jean passed the message onto his wife who said the same. Jean decided that she could not let the day go for them, she then gave the cards/chocolates to them individually and told them to write them out, the gentlemen could not write due to his painful hands, so Jean wrote it for him, they were both very thankful for Jean’s act of kindness, they offered Jean the money, but Jean refused and said it had made her day seeing them both happy and still so much in love’
